All righty now; Let's check those wallets! Not a week goes by where someone doesn't ask me...... Did I tell you the one about the guest at my best friend's wedding? How about the time I went to a local Microsoft software demo at the Chico Holiday Inn? A 1995 computer product exposition in San Francisco? WESCON '95 and '97? How about the last Wireless Cable convention? Most of the staff here at Butte College? A lot of Christmas parties I've been to over the years? The NAB conventions in Vegas in '97, '98 and '99? My Oroville High School reunions in '94 and '99? Even a local Chico lounge I used to frequent after work once or twice a week. They didn't say "Norm!" when I walked in. How about my latest vacation cruise to Mexico? At least two people asked me about it. I should have played it up more. I got lost in Seattle during a summer vacation in '98, and ended up driving around some expensive neighborhoods while trying to find my destination. Only later did I find out I was on Bill's street. Thank goodness they left me alone during NetWorld '96 in Vegas! You know the one. That's where Bill spoke, and 500 people walked out! I'm afraid to show my face around here or the Bay Area anymore. Maybe the next OHS reunion they'll let me do my Gates impression.  |
